Hello! Contemplating the religious life

* * *
Hi, I just recently joined the Church last year and am always eager to learn more about my faith. For many years now I have contemplated the idea of becoming a nun, however I just do not know if this is the path God wishes me to take. I had contacted a few convents, however at the time I had not joined the Church yet. It confuses me and makes me nervous, since I do not know what to do.

Well, anyways enough about me! Nice to meet you!

If God intends for you to be a nun then the desire will last. In the meantime, live your life. A friend of mine is leaving for the monastery in the coming weeks. She spent quite a few years visiting monasteries every couple of months just to get to know the nuns, spend some time with them, and figure out what the religious life was about. When she did finally decide to pursue it more seriously, she talked with our priest and he helped her find other monasteries to visit. Eventually she found one that she loved and she is about to go live there for an indefinite amount of time to see if that life is really for her.

Do you have a monastery you can visit? You might talk to the nuns there about your fears. Also, be sure your priest knows. Most importantly, live in the here and now and trust God to lead you in the right direction when the time is right.

May God bless you on your journey.

My wish
Hi, I am new as well.

I am new to the orthodoxy in spite of the fact that I was baptized several years ago.

Despite my orthodox descent, I am new to the Church as well.

You know it happens, that you are formally belong to the Orthodoxy, but do not practice it in your everyday life.

I wish we all to be more involved in the life which rightfulness is time-honoured.

Marrage or Monasisim
So are you baptized yet? When you go to the covnet you will know if you belong there. If it does not happen right away learn more like you said abour you faith. Marrage is just as good as monsastism to save ones soul. The benefit of marrage is you have someone to love and love you in support with loving god. Look for some who takes commuion often and start a friend ship with them. Start takeing commuion often yourself and God wiil take care. God Bless You.
